Ferrero will finally not play at the National Masters of Sevilla

Finally , when it seemed that JC would play again after the surgery  he was submitted to , we have been told that JC will not participate in the National Masters of Spain , where they plan to do a tribute to Carlos Moya , who has retired this year from professional tennis. JC thinks that it is too soon to play again a official match and that it´s a bit risky , so he has decided not to play yet. This means that we will have to wait a bit more until the Masters of Bilbao to see again JC play a official match. Here you have some words JC said about him not playing at Sevilla:

"Although the recovery from the injury i had which didn´t let me play at Valencia is going on the right track , it was a bit of a risk to start to compete so soon"

"I´m really sorry for not playing at Sevilla beacuse i was looking forward to it , because of the city and it´s special tournament , with the tribute to Carlos Moya"

"The main draw has  important players which will offer the people there a great show , so i´m sure Sevilla will enjoy it"

New noticies from Juan Carlos!

We  are already starting to know where will each player start next season . We still don´t know if JC will play any 250 tournament before the Australian Open. However , we do know that the Chile open (Movistar Open) is very interested on Juan Carlos and will try to have his participance on that tournament . This is not a usual open played by JC ,but there is always a first time for everything . If he does play here , this will be the point where he will start his South American season. This notice was known on the official website of David Nalbandian , where it says that David will play there and it mentions that the organization wants also that JC playes there.

This week , on a interview the german press did to Roger Federer , the Swiss mentioned Ferrero , which is to thanked , as he said great words of JC. He was talking that he is a bit sad because there is currently no young player that is reaching the best positions of the ranking. Then he mentioned that "when  i was still a teenage , usually , there where on each season two or three players which where very good and talented like Hewitt , Safin , Ferrero or Roddick". This are great words from Federer to Juan Carlos , is great to see that other players also see Juan Carlos as a very talented one.

When we start to know more noticies about JC , i will publish them here . See you :)

Interview of Ferrero about the Valencian Open 500

Here you have an interview of Juan Carlos where he explains in more detail things about the Valencian Open 500 and also where he talks about how he is recovering from his injury.

Interview here

Ferrero at the Valencia Open 500

Althogh JC is not playing "his" tournament due to the surgery he had , we have seen him on some ocasions  in the main court of the Valencian Open (like on tuesday on the match between Ferrer and Garcia Lopez) , which is known as the Agora. He has also been present in some activities of this tournament , such as clinics with the small and young tennis players of Valencia.

Before the Valencian Open started , Juan Carlos saw the football match between Murcia and Real Madrid , as he was invited to the Murcia´s stadium to see live the match.

Ferrero will be missing his Asian tour due to his injury in the knee

When we thought we would see again JC in action in one week , finally JC has dropped from the tournaments he  aimed to play at Asia due to the continuous problems that his injury in the knee is giving him. What he is planning now is to make a later comeback and prepare specifically for the Valencia Open (which will start in more or less one month).

Thanks to the spanish newspaper "Las Provincias" , who dedicated a recently report to the Valencia Open 500 , we can perfectly know how the injury is going for JC due to the words of his coach , Antonio Martinez Cascales. In the interview they did to him , he said this about JC´s injury : "He had really bad luck in the first tournament he played on this year when he suffered a sprain in his ankle  . He tried to recover rapidly for the Australian Open , which began 5 days later  and he made too much force in his left feet trying not to rest on his damaged leg. Finally , this evolved in a tendinitis , from which he hasn´t recover in 9 months".

Loosing this Asian tour will probably mean that other players will improve his ranking , so it is possible that he could drop out of the Top 30 before playing again at Valencia. However , the positive thing is that he will not defend any points in the Asian tour of next year , meaning that he has more choices of entering the Olympic games of London 2012.Hope you recover soon JC!

Next tournament for Ferrero : the US Open

After not being able to play at Toronto due to his injury on the knee and again not playing also at Cincinatti due to a cold he had, Juan Carlos will play again on the US Open, where he reached last year the fourth round (180 points) . Missing the last couple of tournaments has made him loose some positions on his ranking, but what is worst is that he will play at New York without having any competitive practice on that surface in this season.

JC will appear tomorrow in the 24th position of the ATP , due to the great week Mardy Fish has done at Cincinatti (reaching the final), so JC will loose one position. He has more or less 70 points of difference from Feliciano Lopez (who is ranked 25 th) . This means that JC will be more or less the seeded player 17- 24 , making a good draw possible , so that he can reached the fourth round and why not, improving last years result and winning some points for his ranking.

JC will play his match of first round at Wimbledon this afternoon

Juan Carlos will start his participance on this new edition of Wimbledon this afternoon playing against Xavier Malisse. The match will be played on Court 2 and it is predicted that it will start around 18:00 (british hour),but this depends on how long the three matches that will be played before will last. As court 2 has tv coverage,we will be able to see Ferrero play for sure,we just need to get a link to watch the match on any streaming site, such as MyP2P,LiveScoreHunter,Fromsport,Adthe....

Analysis of Xavier Malisse

Malisse was born in Belgium and he is more or less the same age as JC.He is now ranked on the 75th position and last week he played at Hertogenbosch, where he reached the semifinals, loosing against Stakovski. In general, this year hasnt been a good one for Malisse, although on the two last tournaments he has played,he has reached the best results of the year (quarterfinals at Queens, where he won Djokovic, and semis on Hertogenbosch).

Malisse and JC have only played once against each other. This happened at Queens last year, where JC won him on third round by 6-4 7-6. We all hope that JC returns with a good win and that he gains back that confidence he had on the clay season.

Ferrero wins easily against Granollers and will play his second round match against Benjamin Becker

JC´s match of first round played yesterday was like an exhibition match for him,as he continuously enjoyed his gamestyle throughout the match and showed how to make some imposible angles with his backhand. The final score (6-0 6-3) shows how easy it was for JC to win his first round match against Granollers, who becamed 24 years old in the same day of the match.

On the first set,Juan Carlos played with so much confidence and so deep that from the start of the match he dominated his opponent by controlling most of the points and by doing some magnificent winners (especially with his great backhand). It is also important to say that JC had a very low percentage of unforced errors, making the 6-0 possible.

On the second set,JC started the set with too much confidence and he relax a bit.Marcel took advantage of this relaxation to make JC loose his service, but soonly afterwards Juan Carlos woked up and inmediatly obtained a break which made him start playing better and with much more confidence. Finally,JC did another break and he won the second set by 6-3

JC will play on second round this wednesday against the german Benjamin Becker, who won on firts round the australian Tomic and who is currently ranked in the 40th position. So far this year,Becker has won 10 matches and lost 11 (having therefore a negative overall result). However,on the last tournament he participated in (the Masters 1000 of Miami),he reached surprisingly the fourth round (winning on the way players like Ljubicic and Robredo).

The match of second round will be played tomorrow wednesday on the Central Court on the firt turn,so the match will start at 9:30 (british hour) and you can follow the match by BET 365 or other pages (like myp2p,atdhe,fromsport,livescorehunter,rojadirecta.....)

Good luck JC!

Juan Carlos will play today first round of the Masters 1000 of MonteCarlo

Finally, the European clay court season has arrived and JC will start at MonteCarlo. He will try to continue the great clay court season he started on the South American clay court season, where he won 14 matches and only lost 1.JC will appear as the ninth seeded player and will start on first round against Marcel Granollers, who has qualifies to the Main Draw by playing the qualies.

Main draw of Juan Carlos

[8] Ivan Ljubicic (CRO) vs bye
Fabio Fognini (ITA) vs Michael Llodra (FRA)
Jeremy Chardy (FRA) - Qualifier
Qualifier vs [11] David Ferrer (ESP)

[15] Jurgen Melzer (AUT) vs Paul-Henri Mathieu (FRA)
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez (ESP) vs Philipp Petzschner (GER)

Qualifier vs [9] Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP)

[14] Juan Monaco (ARG) vs Qualifier
Michael Berrer (GER) vs Evgeny Korolev (KAZ)
Qualifier vs Eduardo Schwank (ARG)
[2] Rafael Nadal (ESP) vs bye

As you can see,JC will start playing against Granollers in first round. Then he will probably play against Tomic and on third round he will face Tsonga.Let´s hope that JC is able to reach quarter finals, where in theory he would play against Nadal.

Ferrero vs Granollers,first round

JC will start his participance on this Masters 1000 of Monte Carlo, where he has done some great results (he won this tournament twice in 2002 and 2003) and he will play against Granollers, who won in the qualies against Ouanna and Balleret.

Granollers is ranked 88 and so far this year he has won 7 matches and lost 6.His best results in this year has been the final he lost in the Challenger of Rabat (against Ramirez Hidalgo) and the semis he did at the Challenger of Marrakech. On the last tournament he played,Casablanca,he lost on the second round against Guillermo Garcia Lopez.JC and Marcel already met at the start of this year at Buenos Aires.Granollers won the first set at the tie break. However, JC won the second set by 6-0 and the thrid and last one by 6-3.

The match will start around 14:00-14:30 and as it will be played at centre court,we will be able to watch the match by Bet 365 or any link given in pages such us atdhe,myp2p,fromsport,rojadirecta,channelsurfing...

Ferrero vs Tsonga, this afternoon at 4:00 pm

Although the order of play was released really late,we now know at what time JC will play his match of 4th round against Tsonga. This will be played (if there´s no rain) at 4:00pm (british hour) and it will be played in the Central Court.

We will be able to watch JC´s match at Bet 365 or any links given in webs like myp2p,fromsport,rojadirecta,livescorehunter,atdhe...

Ferrero will play this night against Isner on third round at Miami

After beating very easily Koellerer on second round at the Masters 1000 of Miami due to the retirement of Dani ,JC will play third round against John Isner. The match will be played on the Grandstand Court (more or less around 10:00pm british hour)and we will be able to follow the match in any link of the match given on websites such us atdhe, channelsurfing, fromsport,my p2p,rojadirecta....

Analysis of John Isner

Isner is a player who is doing a magnific season so far.On the first tournamnet of the year,he won his first title of his career at Auckland and so far he has done some great results (such us reaching the final on the Open 500 of Memphis). On this season,he has already won 17 matches (one more than JC) and his improvement in his ranking has been spectacular(as he is just outside the Top 20).

His style of play is strange compared to other professional players.Although as some of them he has a very powerful and secure serve, the thing which makes this player special is his ability to mantain long rallies, which is really impressive as not many people with his height can be such a good baseline player. What JC must do to win him is to make sure that he hits back every single serve of the american without doing silly errors and also to make John run along the court, because if he plays as he did against Ferrer at Buenos Aires,Isner will not cope with that level of play.

Good luck JC and, hope you can make it to third round!

Ferrero wins again, making it 13 victories in a row

It seems that JC´s dream is nowhere near to it´s end and that JC is not suffering at all the fatigue of so much matches in two and a half weeks.Yesterday,Juan Carlos won Nicolas Almagro in three sets (6-1 5-7 6-2) and has made it into the semifinals where he will play against Juan Monaco. The match will start not before 11:00 pm (british hour) and as we get near this time i´ll put links of where you will be able to see the match.

PD:YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH THE MATCH HERE

As im sure you will all remember,JC played against Monaco one week ago in the semifinals of Buenos Aires, where Juanqui won Pico in two sets (finishing the second set on the tie break). However this time,we need to have special carefulness with Monaco,as he won in quarterfinals the first seeded player,Fernando Verdasco, showing clearly that it is going to be a really tough match for JC.

Analyses of the match between J.C.Ferrero and Almagro

On the first set,Juan Carlos showed once more his great fitness and quality of play level as he just went literally over Almagro on the first set, where the Murcian player only won one game, being this one his first service of the match, where he won it to 30.On JC´s first service,JC suffered a bit as the game got to 30-30,but JC solved in a great way this first dangerous moment, leaving the score to 1-1*.

From this moment of the match, although it is true that Almagro´s tennis level went a bit down due to his frequently unforced errors,JC started playing again as agressive as he knows and he offered us some great return and backhand winners which maked him obtain the first break of the match, leaving the score to 3*-1.On his next service,JC showed his confidence by winning this serve to love (with an ace and two winners). As JC was playing so good,Nico lost completely the initiative on the points, making him loose once more his serve on this first set and helping JC to finish the set by 6-1.

On the second set,Juan Carlos started again playing at a good level and after winning his service on the first game of the second set,he had won 7 games in a row.The anecdote of the match happened when during a rallie,Almagro hitted the ball but slipped on the clay and felt on a bad position of the leg which maked us think that he was badly injured. However,he inmediatly started walking and played again with normal leg movility.Although JC was confident on himself,Nico started playing much agressive, with really powerful shots which made JC loose in most moments the control of the point and making JC lost his serve at the final part of the set,in the 11th game. Finally,Nico won the set by 7-5.

On the start of the third set, first JC was really struggling to hold with his serve, but on the third game of the set,Juanqui obatin a really important break which pushed him to the victory, winning the last set by 6-2.

Good luck this night JC!

Latest news of Juan Carlos of these last days

As in this last days there has happened lots of important things around JC,here you have all the noticies of JC from this past days.

Ferrero is at quarterfinals on Acapulco!!

PD:You can follow JC´s match that will start in a couple of minutes through here

After the match of second round of this night where Ferrero won his 12th victory in a row,JC will play this night his match of quarterfinals against Nico Almagro (winner of last year´s edition of this tournament) and who occupies the 26th position in the ranking. We need to remind that JC also won Almagro on December at the exhibition tournament of Bilbao in the final,so JC should win Nico. However,we hope that JC doesn´t feel the pain he felt some days ago on his right wrist due to so much matches played. The match will take place not before 3:00 am(english hour) and as we become closer to this hour i will put here places where you will be able to see the match.

Ferrero is already on the 16th position of the ATP Ranking :)

As you will all know, with the tittle of JC at Buenos Aires,JC went up by 6 positions on the ATP ranking, situating on the sixteenth position, meaning that he came back to the Top 20 after 2 years (the last time was on February of 2008).This improvement on the ranking makes JC be the third best spaniard on the rankings.

However, this is not going to stop here,as with the won match of this night against Andreev,JC has won an overall of 90 points this week, whih means that if David Ferrer doesn´t win Acapulco,JC will end the week at least on the 15th position and if he wins this night match,he might aswell improve into the 14th position.

Ferrero will play on the Davis Cup as number 1 of Spain

The great results which has done JC in the last weeks has helped him to return to the Davis Cup Spanish Team.JC will play this first round of the Davis Cup as the first seeded player of Spain and the other members of the team will be Ferrer,Granollers and Robredo (being this last two the players for the doubles).

JC becomes the ninth player with most points won this season

If we take on account the last win of JC on the last night,Juan Carlos appears to be the ninth player with most point won, which is sensational as if he continues on this way,he can do so important things this year....

Also,he has overtaken Nadal, meaning that he is the spanish player with most points won, being the spaniard which is playing the best tennis currently.

Matches of JC at Brazil

In the Media section of this blog,i have uploaded three matches of JC on the tournament of Costa Do Sauipe, the language of all matches is spanish and you can download them here

Ferrero: winner of the Brasil Open!!

Yesterday was an incredible night which JC will laways have on his mind.Yesterday´s tittle was the tenth of his career won on clay, the thirdtieth of all his career and the first one of this season which looks like it is going to be another great season, similar to last years. The final match was really impressive,it was so under control on Juan Carlos that it was impossible for it too scape from JC´s hands.Juan Carlos played so good and he was so concentrated that the polish player only won a game in the whole match.

Although with this win JC hasn´t improve in his ranking, the enormous gap between him and the players on the Top 20 has been completely closed and there is less than 100 points between JC and the 18th position, which means that JC must do a great tournament this week at Buenos Aires,as it is vital for him to pick up more points and take advantage of this close differences, which could make him rise to well inside the Top 20.Also,there has now been created a gigantic gap between him and the players which persecute him in the rankings (a difference of more than 200 points with the 23rd position),which means that if JC had a bad tournament, his position will not be in danger for a couple of weeks.

Analysis of yesterday´s final match

The match started as most of the finals do,with both players being a bit nervous and both making silly errors.Due to this nervous atmosphere,in the first two games there were two breaks done. However, the first two come back to its normal play and start dominating the match was Juan Carlos, who showed his experience and started making the polish run around the court in long rallies and started to make more and more winners. In the third game of the first set,JC broked Kubot´s serve and from that point, the polish dissapeared from the match and JC won the rest 10 games of the match.JC was playing so good that it´s very difficult to analyse the rest of the match as he did so many great shots that we wound finish until tomorrow, but the point i would like to highlight as being the best of the match was one were you could clearly see the quality of JC,his great fitness level and mostly the great motivation he has on fighting every ball .

This magnific point was played in the second set, with the 1-0* and the first deuce of the match. In this rallie, the polish player did a wonderful dropshot and didn´t expect that JC could hit it back.Juanqui did another dropshot, although this one was send to the other side of the court. The polish nearly let it bounced twice, but he did an exceptional effort to reach the ball and hit once more another dropshot. It seemed that JC couldn´t reach the ball, but he finally putted the head of the racket and hitted back into the baseline.Kubot only could send it back doing a lob which was finally smashed by JC finishing an extraordinary point.

Tomorrow i´ll upload some photos, videos, interviews and the first round match of this wonderful week of JC at Costa Do Sauipe.

Thanx for visiting us :)

Happy birthday Juan Carlos!!!

Today is JC´s turn to try to reach the semifinals by playing against Carlos Berlocq,an unknown player which is currently in the 295th position of the ranking and who´s best history ranking was 65 (at 2007).

The match will start around 8:30 pm (british hour) and you can see it through BET365 or by the link i gave in the post of Ferrero vs Schwank.

As you all know, today is a very very important day,as it´s JC´s birthday,he is now 30 years old.A day like today,30 years ago,our hero was born.We hope that he can continue giving us great noticies and that he can win lots of tournaments and finally that he can celebrate by the best way his birthday,by winning on Sunday this tournament of Costa Do Sauipe.

Ferrero wins an exciting match against Massu and he is already in quarterfinals

In the match that Juan Carlos played of second round yesterday,JC suffered too much than expected because of his fault and also due to the high level of play that Nicolas showed in some moments of the match.

In the fisrt set,JC just went over Massu, although JC wasn´t playing as good as he can, doing lots of unforced and strange errors.Once he broked the serve of Massu,Juan Carlos played much better than Nicolas, winning lots of points in a quick way, most of them due to the unpatientness of Nicolas, who tried to do at all time winners and most of them went out.Another key point of the first set was the clearly strategy of Massu to annoy JC by loosing lots and lots of time between his serve, getting to the limit of the time permited and in some times exceeding it.However, this didn´t work for him and JC won the first set by 6-2.Everything seemed that the second set was again going to be quick and that the match would not last a lot,but after a couple of minutes we discovered that this wasn´t going to happen.

At the start of the second set,JC did again a break on Massu´s serve and more or less in this time the anecdote of the match happened, when Massu went to the umpire and commented to him that some people from the court where saying bad things about his mum. This made Massu nervous and agressive and made him wake up and play harder, with much more power on his shots.Although the rythm of Nico was getting each time better and better,JC had a wonderful 30-30 when they were at 5-3* to have the chance of having a match point, but he didnt got it that time as he threw out the ball in a strange way,as the forehand wasn´t that difficult. From that point,JC started to play worse and to loss confidence on his shots, which made him lost the second set by 5-7.

In the third and last set,Massu was playing wonderfully well and it was very clear that JC wasn´t in the best moment of the match. This could be clearly seen in the service of JC,as he had lots of problems to avoid that Massu broked his serve. However, everything changed when JC did a magnific break, leading with 3*-2.From this point,Juan Carlos got again some confidence and started playing really good, more or less in a similar level to the one of the middle of last year.

JC wins his match of first round and will play this night against Massu

Finally, yesterday we enjoyed the first win of Juan Carlos in this year. The match was very leveled and it lasted for a bit more than 2 hours. The final score was of 7-6 6-3.This night,JC will try to win his round 2 match against Nicolas Massu in a match that will be played around 11:30 pm(british hour). The match can be followed by bet365 and also by the link which i gave in yesterdays post.

In yesterday´s first set against Schwank, throughout all this set the game was very leveled.Although at the start of the match Schwank was the one who putted more pressure on JC and was who had more chances of breaking Ferrero´s service,JC fought back well and he demostrated his great quality saving numerous break points (such as in the 4*-4,where JC saved 4 Bp´s which if the argentinian had won,it would probably would mean that JC would had lost this set)

Another key fact which we need to highlight is that in some parts of the first set,JC played too short,so it was constant the silly errors that he did by hitting the ball against the net.In this first set there were some excellent points played (such us the one were Schwank hitted the ball against the net but this passed into JC´s court.Ferrero sprinted powerfully and finally did a wonderful wrist change to do a perfect backslice near the net.Another great shot was the one were JC did a magnific passing shot to win the last point of the tie break)

Finally,to finish the review of the first set,we need to say how important the change of rythm and level of play that Ferrero did between the tie break, where he started loosing by 1*-3 but recovered, played much better without doing any unforced errors and finally won it by 7-4.

We could describe the second set as a crazy one, where lots of breaks were done.In the start of the set,JC started leading by 2-0*,but after the argentinian winning his service (with the 2*-1) the breaks started and 4 consecutive breks were done, leaving the score to 4*-3.JC finally won his own serve and break once more Schwank´s serve to win his first match of the year.

Good luck this night and we wish that you can obtain this night your second win of the year.Good luck JC!

As you can see above, the first round is going to be tough against Eduardo Schwank, who will play this open really prepared and with a lot of rythm as he has played this week at Santiago de Chile and in the last couple of weeks,he has reached two finals of challengers (winning one of them). In second round,JC should play against Massu (who should be easier to win than Schwank) and in the third round,JC will probably play against the second best player of the Open.Although he has such a low ranking,Gasquet has the quality of a top 20 player,so in quarterfinals the match will be very very difficult for JC.If Juan Carlos won this match, then everything would be much easier and it would be more probable that JC won his 13th tittle.

However,we need to go slowly, round by round and we hope that JC plays his first match against Schwank with his great style and hitting hard.Once we know when JC is playing,we will note it down here :)

Good luck JC!

Ferrero receives a susprise party before going to Brazil

The most special friends of JC decided to celebrate a susprise party due to the thirtieth birthday of JC and was done at Mya (which is near where the Valencia 500 Open was played).Although the real day of his birthday is the 12th of February, this party was celebrated before this date as the 12th of February JC will be at Brazil, participating at the Costa Do Sauipe Open 250.

As we can read in JC´s webpage,he first thought that he was going to the presentation of the new book of the Valencian Open, but when he got there,he realised that instead he was attending to a susprise party. His birtday gift was a brand new car, where all the names of the people who attended this party could be read.Another susprise was when in a big screen a message send by David Ferrer was projected and it could be read that we would soon see JC in the veteran circuit.

JC confirms his participance on the tournament of Acapulco

A few days ago,it was confirmed that Juan Carlos will participate in the tournament of Acapulco, which is played between the 22-27 of February.

If Juan Carlos mantains his ranking in the next few weeks,in theory he will be the fourth seeded player. The rest of possible theory playes (in orther of ranking) could be Gonzalez,Monfils,Ferrer,Querrey,Almagro,Monaco,Montañes.

When we get close to the date of this tournament,we will give you more and more info of JC at Acapulco.

Good luck JC!

Ferrero losses against Dodig,in spite of winning the first two sets.

The match lost by Ferrero against Dodig was surprising, difficult to understand as Juan Carlos starting winning the first two sets but the croatian finally won the match and this becomes the second consecutive year where Juan Carlos losses in the first round of the Australian Open.

As the match was not offered in tv,it is very difficult to analyse it,but based on the comments of other fans of Juan Carlos which saw the match in that court,we Know that Juan Carlos started really well the match, dominating the at all time. Also, the croatian started really badly in the first two sets, playing at a poor level. However,as Juan Carlos explains in his official blog,"the calming effect dissapeared and he continued with the pain throughout the match".

After this bad start of the year, where JC has won 0 matches and has lost 2, his next tournaments will be in the South American tour, playing in Costa Du Sauipe,Buenos Aires and Acapulco. We shouldn´t loose the faith on Juan Carlos,as we all remember that last year he started as bad as this one but then he recovered and his comeback was exceptional,so we know that JC is capable of this and im sure that in South America he will win lots and lots of points and why not winning a tournament.

Please, dont loose the faith on JC!

Ferrero vs Dodig on court 13

Juan Carlos will play his match of first round of the Australian Open this night against the croatian Ivan Dodig on court 13. The bad news is that this court has no tv coverage,so the only way to follow JC´s match is by the livescores at the Australian Open webpage, where they show live scores with some statistics, such us aces, winners, unforced errors....

If the rain respects the players and it doens´t fall at Melbourne,JC´s match will be played around 5:00am (british hour).

Good luck JC!

Juan Carlos will play against Ivan Dodig in first round of the Australian Open.

This night, the first Grand Slam of the year will start and we now know who will be the opponent of Juan Carlos in the first round,a croatian called Ivan Dodig. As Juan Carlos is situated in the top half of the main draw, his macth will be played at Monday´s night,so we will have to wait one day more to see Juan Carlos again after his injury at Auckland.

Who is Ivan Dodig?

So that he could get into the Main Draw, this croatian needed to played all the qualies rounds. He is 25 years old and its now ranked in the 185th position of the ranking. In the first tournament he played this year,at Doha,he lost against the belgian Steve Darcis. The most peculiar thing as that, although most of you will not now who Dodig is,last year he played against Juan Carlos in the second round of the qualies at Montreal,in a match that lasted for a bit more than 30 min and which JC won by 6-4 0-1 ret.

If we analyse the statistics of that match, the croatian only did one ace more than JC and in the precentage of first serves,JC was much better than him (85% against 63%). Although Dodig has a good serve, the percentage of points won with his second serve is low, so that is what JC needs to take advantage of so that he can obtain the breaks to reach the victory.

Has Juan Carlos recovered from his injury?

As we can see in a video uploaded on youtube, which was recorded last night,we can see Juan Carlos training, doing some rallies. We can see that he moves without any pain and that he can play at a high level, mantaining long rallies, so we could say that he is mostly recovered.Watch the video of Ferrero training here

Once we know the schedule of Tuesday,we will write here at what time is his match and where you can see it.Hope you recover completely JC!

Ferrero gets injured in his first match, but it seems he will be able to play at Autrslian Open

In his first match of the season,Juan Carlos got injured in his ankle and everything seemed that he would not be able to be ok for the start of the Australian Open.

However,as he said,he would do everything that he could so that he could recover and play at AO and once he arrived to Melbourne,he did a recovery session and he is now feeling much better and he can walk without pain. This was clearly explained in an interview that the spanish sports magazine Marca did to Antonio Martinez Cascales, where he said that he talked with Juan Carlos and he said to him that inflamation was reducing and that he had no pain, therefore he was much better than expected.

As Juan Carlos sees that he can be able to play,he is at the main draw and he will have some not-so-hard players in the first rounds (such as a player coming from qualies for first round or Rajeev Ram in second round). However,we must go step by step and hope that JC continues his recovery and that he acn move in the court without pain.

Recover soon JC!

Ferrero will play his first match of the year this night against Michael Lammer

This night Ferrero will debute in this new season against an unknown player,Michael Lammer. The match will be played at 23:00 spanish hour (22:00 british hour) and we will be able to see it at BET365 and at planetstream.com,where you only need to register and you will be able to see the match.

Todays Opponent of Juan Carlos,Michael Lammer,is a player form Switzerland that was born 27 years ago.Actually, he in now ranked in the 209th position of the ATP and his best ranking was 150.In the last years his ranking has been very low as he doesnt play lots of matches each season (in 2009 he played 6 ATP matches).Lammer has already played in this year,at Doha, where he lost in the first round of the qualies against Koubek, which means that Juan Carlos should win this match easily, without problems.

Here you have a video where you can see how is the serve and the forehand of Michael Lammer.Good Luck JC!

Great draw for Juan Carlos in Auckland

Juan Carlos must be really happy due to the magnific draw that he has for the first tournament of the season,Auckland. In here,he will be the third seeded player, and he is already in second round as in this tournament, the first four seeded players go directly to second round by Bye.

In the second round,he will play against the winner of a match between two players of the qualies, therefore his first match of the season should not be tough for him.In quarterfinals,in theory he will play against Albert Montañes (8th seeded player and actually 31 in the ATP ranking). In this match he also should win without difficulties and in semis he will probably play against Tommy Robredo or Monaco,a match that clearly will be much difficult than the first ones.In conclusion,Juan Carlos has a great opportunity here to obtain lots of points to improve his ranking and why not starting the season reaching the final.

Once we know who is JC´s opponent,we will analyse him in detail.Good luck JC!

Joma will be the new sponsor of Juan Carlos

In this new season there is going to be a very important change in Juan Carlos,as he has a new sponsor,Joma,on both clothes and shoes, therefore JC finishes his relation with Lotto and changes to Joma, who also sponsors Feliciano Lopez since 2008.

Hope that Juan Carlos achieves some great results with Joma :)

Only two days left to see Ferrero again on court

Finally, this new season has already started and there are only two days left to see again Juan Carlos playing. This will happen in the Heineken Open of Auckland (New Zeland).Last year,in this tournament,Juan Carlos reached the second round, which means that if he does a good job and reaches into the last rounds,he will win lots of points and he will be closer to the objective of the Top 15.

Juan Carlos will play as the third seeded player,so if he plays as he did at the exhibition tournament at Bilbao,he should reach semifinals. The first seeded player will be Tommy Robredo (16) (which Ferrero won in the exhibition tournament at semifinals) and the second one will be David Ferrer (hero of the last Davis Cup final).Other seeded players will be Almagro (24), Kolschreiber (27), Melzer (28), Monaco (30) and Montañes (31).

Dont forget that as this Auckland tournament is played one week before the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open,so it is the perfect place so that Juan Carlos gains confidence and gets a good play before this important tournament. Also remember that two years ago,in 2008,Juan Carlos reached the final, where he lost against the german Kolschreiber.

Other players which also will play at Buenos Aires are David Ferrer,David Nalbandian,Carlos Moya,Juan Monaco,Richard Gasquet...

The director of the tournament,Martín Jaite, said that "Ferrero comes from doing an extraordinary 2009 season. On 2008,he had some problems with the injuries, but the great results in the middles of this last season and hes return to the Top 20 makes him a really dangerous player for 2010,specially at clay.We have some great players coming to this Telmex Cup:Ferrero,Nalbandian,Ferrer,Monaco,Gasquet...which makes this years edition very exciting and hard"
