When we thought we would see again JC in action in one week , finally JC has dropped from the tournaments he aimed to play at Asia due to the continuous problems that his injury in the knee is giving him. What he is planning now is to make a later comeback and prepare specifically for the Valencia Open (which will start in more or less one month).
Thanks to the spanish newspaper "Las Provincias" , who dedicated a recently report to the Valencia Open 500 , we can perfectly know how the injury is going for JC due to the words of his coach , Antonio Martinez Cascales. In the interview they did to him , he said this about JC´s injury : "He had really bad luck in the first tournament he played on this year when he suffered a sprain in his ankle . He tried to recover rapidly for the Australian Open , which began 5 days later and he made too much force in his left feet trying not to rest on his damaged leg. Finally , this evolved in a tendinitis , from which he hasn´t recover in 9 months".
Loosing this Asian tour will probably mean that other players will improve his ranking , so it is possible that he could drop out of the Top 30 before playing again at Valencia. However , the positive thing is that he will not defend any points in the Asian tour of next year , meaning that he has more choices of entering the Olympic games of London 2012.Hope you recover soon JC!
