JC does a great tournament at Montreal and improves more his ranking

JC Ferrero did a great job in the Masters 1000 of Montreal, where he lost in the third round against Murray, who would finally won this tournament.

Firstly,JC needed to won his two matches of the qualies so that he could enter the main draw.He easily won both of these matches. The first won was won in 39 minutes and in the second one only one set was played,as his opponent had physical problems and couldnt continue playing.

In the main draw,Ferrero played first round against a well known australian player:Lleyton Hewitt, who was doing some great results in the last tournaments. However,Ferrero once more showed his great quality and his great confidence he has on his self and he easily won the first set.In the second one,Lleyton started to put more power on his shots.Although the australian started to play better,JC demostrated that he should go to the Davis Cup semifinals and played at a really high level of tennis, where Hewitt couldnt stop him and finally won the second set by 6-4

On the second round,Ferrero played against another really difficult player, the french Gael Monfils, who is ranked the 13th of the world. On the first set, both players started playing really well, but Ferrero was the one who started to dominate the rallies and he finally won the first set.On the second set,the level of quality rised and the rallies became long and contained some wonderful shots, one of them being a fifty stroke rally.Gradually,it seemed that Monfils was the one that dominated the second set,but JC tried to hold on as much as he could and he finally won the match at the tie break, where he started loosing by 5-3 but finally won it by 9-7

Ferrero´s run at Montreal ended on the third round,on a match where he couldnt do nothing to win,as Murray played too well and Ferrero was also a bit tired after playing 5 consecutive matches that week.

This excellent results made JC improve once more his ranking and he is now in the 25th position of the ATP ranking. As he is not far away of points from the 24 and 23 position,it is not imposible for him to go into the 23 position after playing the US OPEN,where he doesnt defend any point.
